Tony Amagansett Neighbors Turn Into Hatfields & McCoys

Further Lane neighbors Terry Semel, former chief of Yahoo (right), and Goldman Sachs exec Jonathan Sobel are engaged in an ongoing dispute centered around the construction of two houses on Semel's 8-acre property. Each side is sending in their high-priced lawyers to battle it out in front of the East Hampton Town Zoning Board of Appeals. The lawyer for Sobel claims that Semel was mistakenly given the okay to build two houses on his lot, when zoning code allows for one house and one accessory structure. Meanwhile, Semel's lawyer took hyperbole to ridiculous heights by telling the board: “You are a fulcrum in this third world war." A truce has been called until the board reconvenes in April.
