Sweet Ride

What are out-of-work architects doing with their free time? Making homemade ice cream, natch. An unlikely combination (imagine Ben & Jerry building spec houses), but unemployed L.A. architect Natasha Case and her partner are finding success with their Coolhaus dessert truck, reports the Times. With starchitect-inspired flavors (Frank Behry, Mies Vanilla Rohe), their $10,000 retrofitted postal van is building a sweet reputation on the west coast. In fact, business is booming enough for them to go bi-coastal with a Hamptons truck scheduled to break ground in 2010. [NYTimes]
