Historic Henry D. Hedges House Now Seeing Other People

Like a tired marriage in desperate need of a little spice, the historic Henry D. Hedges House in East Hampton is adding another broker into its sales mix. Jean Rickenbach of Sotheby's International Realty had the exclusive at 29 Huntting Lane in the village, which features 8 bedrooms, 8 1/2 baths, 6 fireplaces, an elevator, carriage house and heated pool. But after a year on the market without any bites, owner John Tarbet was getting restless. Throw in an ineffective PriceChop in October from $11.5 million to $10.9 million and it was time for 'ol Henry to start dating other people. Enter: Jim Oxnam of Brown Harris Stevens, who lands the co-exclusive listing.
