It Happened One (Long) Weekend: Burgers and Big Names

1) The annual Hamptons Burger Bloodbath saw the one and only El Chod come out on top in the burger-making competition this year. Chodorow (along with son Zach) competed against Shorty 32’s Josh Eden, the Charles’ Cobi Levy, Hill Country’s Pete Daversa, and last year’s winners of Mo Koyfman and Jeff Schwartz for the title. According to the Feedbag, the Chods' slightly richer mix of LaFrieda meat put their offering on top. [The Feedbag via Gotham Gal]

2) Guild Hall hosted perennial man-about-town Alec Baldwin and Danny Glover over the weekend, wrapping up the summer with events featuring the acting giants. Baldwin emceed the Hamptons International Film Festival's final offering in in their SummerDoc series, William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe at the John Drew Theater. Glover was on hand Saturday night to perform Emmett, Down in my Heart with Kathleen Chalfant. [Blog Hamptons]
3) Celebrity parent-child support was in full swing this weekend, as Brit actor Hugh Grant came out to support his father's watercolor exhibit at Southampton's Keszler Gallery. In East Hampton, former Secretary of State Colin Powell was in the audience at Danny Glover's Guild Hall performance, as his daughter Linda was among the show's cast. [SIHH; Blog Hamptons]
