The East Hampton police have arrested three people involved in a village-wide shoplifting ring. Since July, more than $10,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from stores on Main Street and Newtown Lane, including Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci, Coach, Temperley London, J.Crew, Ralph Lauren Polo and BCBG. A break in the case came when the manager of Tommy Hilfiger took down the license plate number of the thieves after watching them steal six shirts from a front table. The retail nightmare is over.
