Driven to Scheme

Things a pre-incarcerated Marc S. Dreier enjoyed: Long walks on the beach and impressive homes. This is some of what we learn from a new Vanity Fair article out on the jailed lawyer/Ponzi schemer, whose two Quogue waterfront properties hit the auction block this summer. Dreier claims a '2003 walk along Westhampton Beach' began his burning desire to dump his 'inland' home and go oceanfront, by any means necessary. Those means turned out to be incredibly illegal, but we're sure Quogue is flattered by his passion for its real estate. [NYP via VF]
