EaterWrap: Oktoberfests Begin, Stone Creek Reviewed, More!

1) Starting today, Rowdy Hall gets into the seasonal spirit with its annual Oktoberfest. Tonight, the East Hampton restaurant hosts a kickoff party with German beers and $19 dinner specials, and of course, an 'Oompah' band. Schnitzel and wurst offerings continue through October 21st. 2) The Stone Creek Inn was reviewed by Newsday's Feed Me blog this week, and the East Quogue favorite didn't impress. Among the gripes: a tapenade covered octopus, a pre-sliced piece of chicken, a muffin-tin made tarte tatin, a rogue meringue on a peach melba, and incorrect wine glasses. All this on an off-season Sunday night doesn't bode well for Stone Creek's winter wind-down. [Newsday]
3) The Living Room at c/o the Maidstone is offering a corn-focused slow food menu for the rest of the month. Chef James Carpenter has added a chowder and succotash to the normal list of Swedish dishes, while pastry chef Laura Donnelly has incorporated corn into a 'financier' and ice cream. [EH Star]
