The October issue of Architectural Digest features a rather spectacular oceanfront home designed by starchitect Alexander Gorlin. The 12,000 square foot modern masterpiece (with a fancy, upside-down floorplan) stands on a plot of land where a spec house once lived. The New York couple who purchased the land a few years back slummed it in the cookie-cutter creation before throwing convention to the wind and designing this impressive replacement. No word on exactly where the 'Hamptons' house is located, but comparable 'bay views' hint that Water Mill or Bridgehampton might take the cake.
