Pond of Death

The rather putrid state of Water Mill's Mill Pond (creative naming!) is being addressed by Town officials who vow to have the algae-ridden mess cleaned up in the near future. These deadly plants, who were responsible for the deaths of 2,500 pounds of sweet-smelling fish last year, have taken over the pond that was once used as a food source during the Colonial era. The new goal: to 'turn the pond around' sooner rather than later, and 'restock' it with fish that the Town has 'ready'. Southampton must have one hell of a freshwater holding area in Town Hall.
