A home in danger of falling off a beachside bluff on Louse Point has just received permission from the Town for a much needed revetment, but not without some serious haggling. Opposed trustees worry that saving one house will not save them all, and the precedent set by previous revetment permission-giving has put the Town somewhere between a cliff and a hardplace. Erosion and the general problem of beaches disappearing are the major issues at hand for one trustee, who said, 'It comes down to one person’s property versus an entire town’s'. And we all know who wins those wars. [EH Press]
