Plans for a 40-acre orchard and 11,200 square foot barn in Bridgehampton have been presented to the town planning board by a Manhattan developer, making the Halsey Lane property the likely future home of peaches, plums, pears and apples. Landowner Paul Pion, who seems to be a Cantor Fitzgerald exec according to a good ole' Google search, also lays claim to a 20,000 square foot mansion on the northern corner of the lot. Though they didn't believe it was his intentions, the board noted during the presentation that 'the town code allows Mr. Pion the option of setting up a farm stand on the property, or allowing potential customers to come to the orchard and pick fruit'. Then again, finance ain't what it used to be. [SH Press]
