The New York State Tax Man has descended on Southampton once again, seizing La Hacienda this afternoon. The Jagger Lane Mexican restaurant was shut down by the Department of Taxation and Finance due to a $20,836 tax warrant that dates back to October, when it was first seized over this matter. A settlement was reached at that time, but the restaurant likely did not pay its end of the deal, despite receiving the keys only a few days later. La Hacienda was one of a number of Latin restaurants in the Hamptons profiled by the Times last summer in an article in which owner Juan Hernandez espoused the simplicity in cooking for all East Enders.
