A profile of Nacho Figueras popped up in the Observer this week, and the David Beckham of polo (not really the best player, but by far the prettiest) tells us why Americans don't have a clue when it comes to his sport. Speaking from his temporary Bridgehampton stables, the Buenos Aires native said, 'Polo Ralph Lauren is bigger than the sport here,' and announced his one-man mission to get his new countrymen to stomp some divots. Whether or not Figueras, a Ralph Lauren model himself, was contractually obligated to say the above statement, remains to be seen. [NYO]
