It Happened One Weekend: Benefit Bonanza Like the Old Days

[The LongHouse Reserve's summer benefit]
1) The Longhouse Reserve hosted its annual summer benefit this weekend with entertainment by the Angkor Dance Troupe and Vongku Pak in line with its theme, Asian Laughter. The arts and education organization raised funds through the auction of works by such boldface names as Willem de Kooning, Roy Lichtenstein, Yoko Ono, Martin Puryear, Yves Saint-Laurent, Edward Steichen, and more. 2) Photographer Steven Klein hosted 'Cocktails at Sunset' for ACRIA (AIDS Community Research Initiative of America) on Saturday night, chaired by the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, hotelier Andre Balzas and Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa. Perhaps the most creatively named ticketing system of the weekend, guests could purchase tickets at the Skinnydipper, Boogeyboarder, or Lifeguard levels. [ACRIA]
3) Thanks to his shameless promotion for it, Russell Simmons' Art for Life benefit celebrated its 10th year by raising over $1 million Saturday night for RUSH Philanthorpic Arts, according to Simmons' twitter. Friend of the Hamptons Governor David Paterson stopped by as well. [Twitter/UncleRUSH]
