In Listings: Random Hollywood History at 'Swan Cove'

New to the market: Swan Cove, an 1903 East Hampton estate belonging to actress Mary Howard de Liagre until her death last month at the age of 94. De Liagre's family is now selling the home that was once a dairy barn-turned-summer cottage on the massive Frank B. Wiborg Estate. Listed at $22.5 million, Swan Cove is a 5-bedroom house on Hook Pond just off the Maidstone Club, with an extensive Hollywood history.

De Liagre was herself one of the Ziegfeld Follies and started in numerous films during the golden age of the movies. Previous owners of the home include actor Robert Montgomery and his daughter, Betwitched star Elizabeth Montgomery, and Wiborg's son-in-law and daughter, Gerald and Sara Murphy, who were inspiration for many of F. Scott Fitzgerald's Jazz Age characters.

The name Swan Cove is of unknown origins - we'd like to think Swan Lake was the inspiration - and, sadly, there are no images available from Sotheby's yet. Judging from the one photo the internet had to offer, it looks as though the swan theme hits you right from the driveway.
