Vered Gallery's auction of Andy Warhol's Michael Jackson portrait has abruptly ended, just one week before it was set to close. The painting, valued at anywhere between $1 million and $10 million, was taken off the auction block temporarily, according to Vered's partner Janet Lehr, and will return when 'the greatest number of prospective purchasers' can have access to it. How this can be better achieved than with an auction remains to be seen. [NYP; previously]
