Southampton Town to End Use of Extravagant Photographs

Apparently, Southampton Town isn't immune to the 'improper' spending that has gotten East Hampton in such dire financial straits, as evidenced by a recent public hearing. Supervisor Linda Kabot had this reaction to a blow-up aerial photo of the parking restrictions on Rose Way in Bridgehampton: "It was a lovely map, but what does it cost? They could have photocopied the county tax map and passed it out." They could have. And the town could have 'properly deal[t] with fund balances in various accounts, and monitor[ed] spending on certain projects'. A lovely map, indeed.
