The summer of Grey Gardens dances on, this time in Harlem. The Maysles Cinema on Malcolm X Blvd hosted STAUNCH! this past weekend, an event celebrating the Hamptons documentary with 'panels with the film’s directors, walk throughs of Little and Big Edie’s recreated bedrooms, prizes, and even a caberet show'. No detail was left out, and judging by the photographs, eccentricity ruled, as true fans of the film seem to look to the Beales for sartorial inspiration. We think the ladies would be quite proud of this crowd, as the '76 documentary is quickly entering the realm of 'Star Trek' and Star Wars fandom. [GofaG]
