Public hearings are set to take place about the proposed building of a 77-foot cell tower in a field in Water Mill. The hearings were deemed necessary by the town's planning board after T-Mobile's application for the tower listed its visual impact as 'small to moderate'. Clearly, we have some scale issues going on here, as a 77-foot tower would appear small next to the Empire State Building, but rather humongous next to a post-modern summer house. If residents are worried, perhaps they should think about getting a few feisty Amagansett residents on it. [SH Press]
