It Happened One Weekend: A Marley at Surf Lodge, Polo with the Prince

1) Stephen 'Son of Bob' Marley came to Montauk's Surf Lodge last night, playing on the deck in support of his new album, Mind Control. Marley was there as a part of Surf Lodge's Summer 2009 Concert Series, which will see the likes of Bebel Gilberto and Ben Sollee on Sunday nights all summer long. Following the concert, the hotel's Outdoor Surf Cinema Event hosted "A Fly in the Champagne", a new documentary chronicling the rivalry between surf gods Kelly Slater and Andy Irons. Look for more films in this series in early August. [The Surf Lodge]

2) Polo, ever the Hamptons staple Saturday event, began its New York season on Governors Island this weekend with a royal on the field. Following immense media coverage of his every move on American soil, Britain's Prince Harry rounded out his 36 hours in the Big Apple by playing in the Second Annual Veuve Cliquot Manhattan Polo Classic. Winning 6-5 over Black Watch, the team helmed by Hamptons regular and Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras, the match brought out an array of polo and prince enthusiasts. Figueras and friends will be back on the East End starting July 18th every Saturday for the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Two Trees Stables in Bridgehampton. [MSNBC]

3) Let's call it a fluke. Despite reports (well, tweets) that East Hampton restaurant Nick & Toni's was quiet around Memorial Day, the universe seems to have realigned, bringing the crowds back this past weekend. Word is the celeb-happy spot was 'PACKED' Friday and Saturday night. All is well. [Twitter]
