RackedHampton: Screaming Mimi's Sets Up in Montauk

More from the world of new stores: vintage emporium Screaming Mimi's has opened up for the season in Montauk in a 750 square foot cottage on Montauk Highway (next to the IGA). The shop features racks of quirky clothes and accessories from the '50s to the '90s. Finding room for an in-store candy shop as well, this outpost of the Lafayette Street store has a beachy twist, embracing its new digs in the hometown of Surf Lodge and Ditch Plains. Vintage flip-flops hold court with a mermaid and sailor themed beach towel from illustrator Fawn Gehweiler, while exclusive merchandise from the city will be brought East as well. Look for brands like Combhard and RVCA & Mollusk in the Montauk Mimi's, as well as the store's notorious "30 Year Jean" —a.k.a. jeans with 30 belt loops. Belts, you've been warned!
