We'll be keeping up to speed with the Hamptons fashion and shopping scene all summer with the help of our colleagues at Racked. Welcome to RackedHampton.
Upscale grocery den Citarella has thrown open the doors on its new space in Bridgehampton, mere months after it took over the old IGA space (more recently doing business as Bob's Village Market) on Route 27. Three months of rapid-pace renovations included a re-shingling of the retro-iconic building and a shifting of the store entrance away from the highway, but not the outdoor seating they'd originally considered. Whither the Water Mill Citarella just a few miles away? Owner Joseph Guerra tells Hamptons.com, "To ask the question for you, am I going to close our store in Water Mill? Don't know. If the people are very receptive, and we're able to support both stores, we're going to keep both." Meantime, check the hot new crabcake action, too.
