East Hampton rare book dealer Glenn Horowitz could have a profitable side gig. The literary lion recently helped good friend (and Pulitzer Prize-winning author) Cormac McCarthy sell his personal typewriter to the tune of $254,000. With the money going to the Santa Fe Institute, it was Horowitz's intrepid idea for an auction that helped the $50 relic garner so much cash. Auction houses had appraised the machine at just $15,000-$20,000. [EH Press]
