Cityfile points us to a rather disturbing story out of Hong Kong. It seems 'a variety of Hamptons-related trademarks were granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Washington' to a German national who runs a garment factory in China. Bizarrely enough, the trademarks are for wallets, beach bags, umbrellas and cosmetics cases, among other things, to presumably be emblazoned with East End names. Worrisome, but somehow a key fob with "Easthampton Beach" on it doesn't sound like a big seller.
