Writer's Block

Page Six reports that writer and East End luminary Jay McInerney has paid $1.4 million for a Sag Harbor cottage. The 1,200 square foot home will be reportedly used as 'part writer's retreat and part children's playhouse' away from the Water Mill mansion he shares with wife Anne Hearst. McInerney might be looking for some inspiration - the bungalow is in an unofficial writers' enclave, not far from where John Steinbeck lived and wrote The Winter of our Discontent. [NYP]
