Club Formerly Known As Pink Elephant May Not Return in 2010

With this morning's news that Chelsea club Pink Elephant will now be known as Pink (creative!), we also learn that the Southampton outpost will undergo a few changes of its own. Gatecrasher reports that current proprietor Joey Morrissey is in talks to open a Pink: Hamptons Edition for summer 2010, but that the return of the nightlife staple isn't a done deal. David Waksman, owner of the Southampton building last home to the club, tells the paper that he has several interested parties, including some restauranteurs. He feels that the food route may best serve the location, saying 'we're just not sure if bottle service at the beach is the best way to use the space'. Waksman was reportedly 'extremely unhappy' with former tenants and believes that when it comes to Hamptons nightlife, 'anything will be better'.
