1) In Southampton, the Parrish Art Museum hosted an evening of jazz on Friday night, with music provided by Grammy winner Lauren Kinhan. Organized by the Business Council, the event brought out an array of local businesspeople, including a smattering of brokers and 'cookie queen' Kathleen King of Tate's Bakery. [Hamptons Online]

2) Good news out of the Long Island Sound. A 42 year old Brooklyn man was rescued after his canoe capsized and he was left holding onto a lobster pot buoy 200 yards from shore. He was later treated for hypothermia at a Port Jefferson hospital. [Newsday]
