Beach Sticker Bombshell

Huge news out of town hall: the much-maligned East Hampton Town beach permit created for summer 2009 is no more. The Press reports that the 'wildly unpopular' $25 sticker will not return next year as local officials have removed the $310,000 in expected revenue from their budget. (The money was saved elsewhere.) To avoid the mass chaos of last spring's sticker rush, new free permits will roll out slowly, with the 2009 blue numbers (right) honored during summer 2010. [EH Press]
