By the Numbers: LI Restaurant Week Returns Signal Success

Returns from last week's Long Island Restaurant Week are trickling in and it seems as though the 233 restaurant venture was a success. Estimates place total revenue at $7,057,056 for the approximately 182,400 meals served. The $24.95 three-course dinners haven't technically ended at many of the participating restaurants, with the East End home to several eateries that have decided to extend the deal. The hangers on: The Patio at 54 Main and Westhampton Steakhouse in Westhampton Beach, Almond (right) and Copa Wine and Tapas in Bridgehampton, 75 Main in Southampton, Blue Sky in Sag Harbor and Laundry Restaurant in East Hampton. Though only in its fourth year, organizer and President of WordHampton PR Steve Haweeli believes that "the campaign has become a great way for restaurants to attract new customers just before the holiday season".
