Though it's hardly the first time Montauk has served as the background for a glossy mag's photoshoot, newsstands now feature two of the more random uses of the East End town in print. Exhibit A: Bruce Weber's shots of Lost's Jorge Garcia and supermodel Christie Brinkley for Vogue Deutsch have to be some of the more unexpected scenes to ever grace a magazine's pages. The Montauk symbolism is minimal, but the image of Brinkley using her Total Gym® in the dunes is a sight to behold.
Exhibit B: Vanity Fair posts a selection of outtakes from the Weber-shot cover story of Robert Pattinson today, featuring the Twilight heartthrob eating lobster, sitting in front of a Montauk Lighthouse poster, and posing with what appears to be a Riverhead rubgy team. All broodingly, of course.
