Events: Top 5 for the Weekend

Aside from the obvious film festival going on (see our favorite movies and notable events here), we bring you the top 5 other things happening in the Hamptons this long weekend. Only one festival-related fête in the bunch.


5) Gurneys Summer Beach Concert Series moves indoors starting this weekend, with Next Level playing at the Montauk resort. Live music, drinks specials and late night sushi every Saturday though December 12th. Saturday, 10pm. 290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk; (631) 668-2345

3) The Ross School's Harvest Festival kicks off on Sunday, with a farmers market, potato games and live music. Celebrate fall in all its glory. Free admission. 18 Goodfriend Drive, East Hampton; (631) 907-5400
2) Wolffer Estate Vineyard celebrates its annual Harvest Party this Sunday with a special lunch paired with Wolffer wines. Other festivities include hay rides, a petting zoo and the final round of the Wolffer Derby, a horseback riding competition. Tickets $75 ($35 for kids) with reservation. Sunday, 12-5pm. 1) The one and only Birdhouse Auction takes place at Parrish Memorial Hall this weekend. A somewhat star-studded event, with honorary chairs Betsey Johnson and Renée Zellweger having donated some of their own works of (bird) art. 100% of the proceeds go to the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Southampton Hospital.
