Out Here in the Fields, a short film about the conservation of the Babinski Farm on Wainscott's Beach Lane, makes its big-screen debut at the film festival this weekend. Director Alec Hirschfeld's documentary depicts the various groups involved in the now commonplace fight to protect a 'quintessential working farm' from development, including the Peconic Land Trust, farmer Andy Babinski, community members and the Town of East Hampton. And, judging by this shot, the ducks that live there too. Their 'unique collaboration' is explored, as is the plight of the few farms left on the East End. An educational 14 minutes await you.
