Tale of Two Sales

Southampton Elliman broker Paul Brennan tells the Star that third quarter market reports were encouraging, but sales are still hard to read. Case in point: "...I just closed on a house in Montauk on the ocean, the listing price was $9.5 million, and I sold it for $12.1 million. That's one end of the spectrum. On the other, in Sagaponack, two acres was on the market for $3.5 million, and we just signed a contract for $1.75 million." The Hamptons will never cease to keep us on our toes. [EH Star]
