The Estate of Mind column in this week's Dan's Papers addresses the rather scant amount of funds coming to the East End's Community Preservation Fund, a result of the deep dive in transfer tax revenues. Good news: Suffolk County planned for this (!) and is offering a helping hand in land preservation in the Hamptons. Even better news: Word is a 23.8 acre Scuttle Hole Road farm for sale will be bought by the Town of Southampton and the County, with the later paying 90% of the bill. Happy times for open spaces.
