Curbed PriceChopper: Cooper Beech Cottage Falls $1.25M

New, 1 comment

After just over a month on the market, 1905 East Hampton manse Cooper Beech Cottage saw a $1.25 million chop this weekend. Listed with Corcoran super-broker Gary DePersia, the 11 bedroom 7.5 bath Maidstone 'neighbor' was cut down to a $7.5 million after an initial listing price of $8.75 million in late September. The well-appointed 6,300 square foot spread boasts 3 stories and a Hamptons pedigree, designed for a 'Mrs. CB Randall' by early starchitect J. Greenleaf Thorp in the early days of the 20th century. That fact is not lost on DePersia, who reminds us just how long ago this house was built in his description. Quoth the listing: 'In 1905 Teddy Roosevelt was President, Albert Einstein published his Special Theory of Relativity, Ty Cobb made his Rookie debut and Bayer Co invented Aspirin'. Good to know. History buffs, get thy checkbooks.
