For some reason, Dan Rattiner envisions life as the owner of Montauk Highway in his paper this week, and emerges with a profound, yet truly implausible idea. 'I'd order that no left turns be made either onto or off the highway. And I'd have the highway be one-way east on Friday nights and one-way west on Sunday nights...This would reduce head-on collisions dramatically during those times. And it would also lessen traffic, which would give the road a rest. People could take back roads or the Jitney or something.' One can dream. [Dan's Papers]
