Rest easy, train riders. After near collision in Bridgehampton last August that was revealed earlier this month, the LIRR has vowed to make sure that safety procedures are adhered to more strictly. One MTA board member acknowledged that this could be difficult because 'you always have humans involved'. Unless, of course, a robot program gets underway soon. Fingers crossed. [Newsday]
