A profile of Southampton's Tate's Bake Shop in the latest Edible East End reveals the story behind Kathleen King's epically successful chocolate chip cookie business. It's a sweet read, with a particularly good anecdote about the name behind the fame. In 2000, King was forced to close her business known as Kathleen's Bake Shop over a business dispute, and reopened as Tate's, named after her father. That name comes from her father's time spent in the Southampton potato fields, where he was known as Little Tater. [Edible]
