As the winds howl and the snow blows outside, we thought we'd recap some of the most beautiful fireplaces we've seen over the past year or two here on Curbed. A fireplace is the focal point of any room, which is why a lot of sad misguided people mount a TV above it. People absolutely love them in any room, from a bathroom (total luxury) to outdoors.
The stunning fireplace above is framed with mirrored molding from the lobby of Hampshire House, decorated by Dorothy Draper in 1937. (We're so glad it was saved!) It's in a Water Mill house designed by Michael Haverland and owned by artist Chuck Price and Vogue editor Candy Pratts Price.
An oceanfront Arts and Crafts mansion in Westhampton Beach boasts this simple yet massive edifice.
