The fun-loving folks at Designing the Hamptons let us in on where the showhouse will be this year. It's at 990 Brick Kiln Road, on the Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor border. Austin Handler kindly sent us some photos of the house in progress. We're a little underwhelmed by the architecture. It looks like a postmodern Shingle-Style-meets-Voysey mashup to us, with unnecessary Palladian windows and a turret tacked on the back for some reason. Why put a Palladian window, with its severe classical references, on a vernacular style of house? We hope the interior is more interesting than the exterior.
